Bob's Photo Shoot

One day, Bob from Gnomehome Photography (TM) headed out for some new snaps of his friends. He looked high and low, and wandered through Kraneia's potted plants in search of interesting and exciting things to take a photo of.

He soon spotted Lily hiding in the same potted plant! "Peek a boo! I see you!" he cried.

"Hurrah!" She said. "You found me!"

"May I take a picture of you?" he asked.

"Certainly!"

Looking up, he spotted Amaryllis peeking at him from a hanging-basket.  "Hello there!" she said, waving. "Would you like a photo of me, too?"

"I most certainly do!" said Bob.

Amaryllis dropped a curtsey and a smile.

Continuing through the moss garden, Bob spotted Amaryllis' sister Poinsettia. She had a present for him!

"For me?" asked Bob.

"Yes! An early birthday present."

"Wow," said Bob. "Thank you very much! But, you don't have to get me anything."

"I wonder who else is in Kraneia's garden?" thought Bob. He looked over at the fallen log. Louie the frog was sitting in his door-way, watching the sun on the leaves and munching the occasional mosquito or two.  "Hello there!" said Bob. "How are you today? I was just getting photographs of my friends. But I seem to be missing a few."

"There is one, right behind you!" grinned Louie.

Bob turned, and spotted Petunia perched on a mushroom. She giggled.

"Petunia! How long have you been there?" asked Bob.

"Not long," she answered. "I just 'popped up' like the mushrooms do.... "

Bob smiled and looked at the photos he had taken. He had so many fairy friends! But there were still a couple missing.....

Sunning herself on a rock was Rose.  She stretched. "H'm! I must have fallen asleep. You didn't take a photo of me while I was asleep, did you?"

"Certainly not!" said Bob. "I have more manners than that.

"Where is Dogwood?" wondered Bob. "I bet she is up by the woods. She likes to spend time by herself sometimes."

Bob wandered up to the other moss garden. Sure enough, Dogwood sat admiring the ferns and violets growing around her.

"Greetings, Dogwood", said Bob, bowing low. "I am getting photographs of all my friends to-day, and I was wondering if I could get one of you, as well?"

Dogwood looked happy. "Why certainly, my dear Bob. Go right ahead!"

"Hurrah! I got all my friends to-day!" said Bob. There was a laugh, and he turned.

All of his friends were behind him, and Dogwood had a camera of her own. She smiled.
"You did a good job of catching us on film! But, we need a photo of you, too!"

"Must you?" asked Bob. I am really camera shy....

The Winter (elf) Soldier

Shortly after the first coldness escaped the clouds, I donned my cloak and made my escape. My booted feet made scrunching noises as I slipped down by the waterway.

My feathered spies told me where to go, and soon I was down by the creek, watching the water flow.

The old privet waved a white fringed branch as it swayed in the breeze. The snow had almost finished its gentle fall, and the white stillness played out the hush.

Underneath the cold creek, the fish slumbered in waiting for spring, and the crayfish curled under their rocks in anticipation for the spring to come.

Reconnaissance done, it was time to be on my way, to dance among the snowflakes and await the warmer weather soon to come.

Aye,
Kraneia
